July 28, 2020–Phoenix, Ariz.— Local entrepreneur and television producer, Kelly Sallaway, has been selected as one of 3 finalists in Realscreen and Everywoman Studios’ Propelle initiative, a female-focused accelerator program for content producers.

“I am honored and grateful to be a finalist in this competition,” says Sallaway.  “My project is a documentary series with an amazing woman at the center. Her story was so compelling I knew I had to tell it.”  

The women’s accelerator gives female producers an unparalleled opportunity to create content for, about, and by women.  Realscreen is a media organization that exclusively promotes unscripted content. Entrants were not limited to any genre in the unscripted category. While most projects submitted are Reality television shows, Sallaway’s entry is a biopic documentary series with a powerful true life story. Over 150 women entered projects in the competition. 

In addition to Sallaway, the other finalists include Meghan Duffy of Black Watch Entertainment, Winnipeg, Canada and Sharon Houston, Los Angeles, California.

“I love working in the unscripted world, whether it’s a documentary, docuseries, or Reality television, says Sallaway.  “What I enjoy are real people who have real stories to tell.  This opportunity is truly unique because promotes stories about, by and for women.”

The winner and recipient of $20,000 will be announced at the 23rd annual Realscreen Summit in New Orleans, LA on January 26,2021.

This isn’t Sallaway’s first time to be recognized by the Realscreen Industry professionals. She was recognized in 2017 as a finalist for the Summit Showdown , Realscreen Washington DC for the unscripted series, The Royal Family and in 2014 for the Summit Showdown at Realscreen London for the competition show, Hungry Games in the Talpa formats contest.
